KG came home to this...

...a couple of weeks ago the girls ended up with me in the middle of the night. It must have been a long night because I was still dressed with my glasses on. This is how he found us when he got home from work in the morning.
Sleep is so great. And I just can't seem to get enough lately. I'm so tired of the thyroid issues. I got the labs back and after the current dose being correct for two month, and having to constantly be increasing it for a over a year, now somehow it's too much. She lowered it and I've been on that dose for a week but man I am dragging. I can tell it's not enough. The doctor is so confused on why we can't get it stabilized. I was on 112 mg, now I'm on 100 for a month. The third week of June I go in for more labs. At that time she is also going to test my pituitary and adrenal glands because things just aren't adding up. If those things come back normal then she's testing me for something else that I can't even remember the name of. I'm also going to bring up PCOS at the suggestion of a few.
I'm just baffled by how much a thyroid controls. I have so much joint pain, the irritability is annoying, my eye sight is getting so bad so fast, I'm exhausted all the time. I've been climbing three flights of stairs for over a year now and just in the last month I get winded. I have no stamina. Just no zest for life. I also worked so hard the last three months to lose weight. I did the same thing all three months. I lost 6 pounds the first month. I was pissed to discover I gained one pound the second month and one pound the third, when I should have lost at least 4 each month. So frustrating! I'm just so tired of all of it! I want to feel normal.
I slept sooo much today, like two separate 2 hour naps. Maybe more. I'm still tired. Granted I only slept 3 on Friday and 5 last night but still.
So here's to June. Here's to sleeping and actually feeling like I've slept and hoping to get this old body figured out.
I love River's cute stretching arms. The camera flash woke her up apparently.
I also want to note my great ward and my awesome friends. I have so many. I didn't go to church today because I didn't get a lot of sleep last night or this weekend with the girls being sick. I was going to make the effort though and had my dress laid out and all. But then I woke up with a headache from lack of sleep. That always leads to feeling depressed. River screamed bloody murder for the first hour we were awake. I just cried and I tried to stay calm. Thankfully Flower was being so good but that sure didn't last! For most of the morning she was my buddy. My headache went away after a nap and we were watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But then about 1:00 she started tormenting River and trying to wake her up by kicking her so it was obviously nap and quiet time. She fought it a little but I asked her if she wanted me to be mean or nice and she chose nice and got in bed. It was when KG woke up and she heard us talking in the living room that she lost it. Twice today she had complete and utter melt downs. Tantrums rarely seen from her. She develops turrets and screams very unkind things from her room in a demonic voice, opens and slams the door repeatedly, throws things, cries, screams. It's lovely. So back to the story of my great friends and ward...no church for us. Within 10 minutes of it starting and me not being there RaeAunn sent a text to find out where I was and check on me and texted throughout church. Kris texted to check on me as soon as church started and then pretty much after church and all night. Amanda showed up at the door with a beautifully painted rock for our balcony, dinner and brownies, just because she missed me at church and knew the kids had been sick! Brenda sent me a message on Facebook. Plus the other day I was feeling blah and Brenda made me a blown glass necklace in turquoise to cheer me up. Seriously? Awesome. It certainly wasn't my worst day. Far from it. But it feels so nice to be missed and loved. And it's awesome to have someone show up with dinner as a nice gesture because you're feeling slightly off, not just because you've had surgery, a major tragedy or some illness. It was all of these kind nods that got me through the day without breaking down and hurting someone! :D They made me able to sit on the sofa and laugh with KG during her tantrums and texting Kris all the lovely details through the day kept me from getting wrapped up in the moment and losing it. I am so lucky with all these great ladies in my life! Love them.

Hodge Podge

Today was a really nice day. When KG got home from work he woke me up and I just did not want to go to church. I was so tired, even though I was asleep by 11:30 last night! He easily would have stayed home as well but alas, we decided we should go. I'm glad we did. First I got to see the cute scene below. :O) They made a River sandwich. River kept 'bear-hugging' Flower and poor Kris was just trying to avoid being head butted! There is none so special than those that love your children. They sure got a lot of love from various people today at church. And Flower was so excited to see her primary president bare her testimony. She was at full attention for it.But I also was very touched by Mandy and Amanda's testimonies. Both were beautiful and very heartfelt.
After church we went to the Idaho Center to see our friend Trisha. She's in town from Utah to participate in a horse show. It was good to see her.
The storm this afternoon was awesome. I got to enjoy listening to it as the other three in this household were fast asleep.

RaeAunn gave River this cute little dress. She wore it last Sunday and looked adorable. Thanks Annie!

These yummy toes and that cute smile were my view one day last week while I slaved away in the kitchen making Ramen noodles for Flower. :)

Flower loves her new umbrella. She is constantly protecting River from the rain. What a relief with all the torrential down pours in our living room.
I love the metallic look I gave this photo.
Between the umbrella and her camera, both of which we can't keep out of her hands, I'd say she had the best birthday ever!
******************
Should I be worried? She loves to sleep with her blanket over her face. It makes me nervous but it's sure cute.
I love how the blanket is outlining her head.

Great Grandma Hunter brought these fun hair elastics over for Flower. Boy does she love them. What a nice treat. Thanks Grandma!

I want to congratulate my nephew, Royal. Yesterday he chose to be baptized a member of the church. He was so proud of himself. We went to my brother's after the event for a BBQ. It was good to see Alyse's family. I always enjoy talking with them.
*********************
After the BBQ I decided to stop by my old bosses house. I haven't been able to reach him for about a year because his number and emails have changed. It was so good to see Paul. He looked great and is so happy.
*********************
I went to the quilt class yesterday morning. It's going well. Although the quilt we are making is completely not my style, I'm enjoying it and learning a lot. I can hardly wait make the kind of quilts I love. I'm drooling over several at the moment.

Wednesday was kind of fun which was welcomed. Tuesday was a rough night for us and so was Wednesday morning. But it quickly turned around when my sister showed up to sit with the kids so I could go to a staff meeting at McGrath's Fish House.
That night we went to Baskin Robbins for $.31 scoop night and then to Papa Johns to pick up a large pizza for $3.99. Not bad! Our plan was to eat at a park but it cooled down outside so we came home.
**********************
Friday KG, Flower, John and Topher went to the cabin for the day. They just wanted to check things out and see what needs to be done to get ready for camping season!
I loved having the morning alone with River to sleep in and then just chill with her for the day. That night Kristen and Cameron came over. First we went to Subway and then came here and chilled. Flower loved having Cameron here to play. Of course Kristen and I laughed until we couldn't breath. We had a great time!

I'm excited for May but I'm also dreading it because that means June is coming all too quickly and I just don't want June here for a few reasons. :( Oh well. Go with the flow I guess.
Here's hoping this week is as good as last week!

A Date with Val and Then Some Lovely Ladies!

Today was no less busy then the rest of the week. I did laundry this morning and made super yummy cupcakes for a girls night tonight.
The three of us went to hang out with Val at the Salon.
She colored KG's hair a pretty red and gave him a shorter due.
Here's my goober husband as his color sets.
Isn't she the cutest?! I just love her! We have THE funniest conversations while she does our hair. She makes me laugh.
She did purple in mine, similar to one I had done at home about a month ago, but then she added a blue kicker that can be seen in the sun. It's fun. Last weekend I was getting annoyed with my hair and cut some short, side swept bangs and some little spikeys at the crown. I really liked it so I just had her fine tune it all and thin it way out! It was getting a little too bouffant for my taste!
I just realized in that photo that the older I get the more I get my dad's saggy left eyelid. Jeepers.
Flower got her hair trimmed and perfected. Such a sweet photo! Two beauties.

We really should have taken an after photo outside because the inside lighting doesn't do it justice. It's a perty color. :)
I LOVE mine! Much shorter then the first cut. Funny because after the first cut I was wishing she'd left it a bit longer. I think I was still trying to get used to the way it changed the shape of my face. Now I want to go shorter and shorter! I just love how easy it is. I also feel a bit more sassy.

KG's mom stopped by after work so I could show her how to lock up because they are using the clubhouse for my nephews birthday on Saturday. After that I went to the church to drop off my bulletins.
Then I went to Kris' house for a little girl's night. We invited a group of gals that had never gotten together before. I've spent time with most of them alone or maybe a couple at a time but not all together. We really wanted to get to know some new people. It was really fun!
I was so happy that Jenna showed up!
Amanda.
Kris.Tamara.
Raeaunne.
We were really sad that Angie couldn't join us.
They are the most beautiful group of ladies, inside and out! I'm lucky to have them as my friends. I enjoyed myself so much and to top it off, we had YUMMY food.
Thanks ladies!
On the my way home I dropped off Matt's friend at her house. She was so fun to talk to and lived right around the corner from our house!
When I got home I was excited to find out KG doesn't have to work tonight. Yippee for a four day weekend together! :)

Visit to RaeAunne

Tonight we had a nice family night. We went to the church so I could do my bulletin. While I was inside KG and Flower climbed Simplot Hill. That little white speck you see in the above photo, to the left of the trees, is them climbing the hill. My phone won't zoom.

We then went to dinner at Gino's. (More dinner details to come in Flower's Birthday post)
Finally we were headed to the hospital. I took this photo on the way there and thought it was kind of cool.
We went to the hospital to visit our friend RaeAunne.
She had knee replacement surgery and we wanted to go cheer her up. Three of her kids and her granddaughter were there. It was so fun seeing her son Travis again. We used to work together about 9 years ago at Madison's. Of course I always love to see Mal and I can hardly believe how much Megan looks and sounds like RaeAunne. Her little granddaughter Quinn is adorable! She and Flower were fast friends! They were holding hands, running up and down the little hall in her room and looking out the window.

Poor RaeAunne was in so much pain! She was really struggling. She called the nurses in a couple of times and I finally went and got one. She said the pain she was feeling was the worst it's been yet. :( I hate feeling like I can't do anything to help someone. I'm glad we were able to go see her though and it was nice to see the smile on her face watching the girls play.
I'm praying for a quick recovery for you my friend!

P.S.- sorry about the poor phone quality photos. It's all I had and it's better then nothing! :)

Let's kick it.

can you dig it?
