date night with flower.

flower has been struggling with attention issues lately. reverting to baby talk and other behavior. we've been trying to make sure to give her lots of one on one time but it's always either kg or me. she hasn't been alone with the two of us since river was born. so, friday night we took river to the heiner's and took flower on a date.
first we went to the boise fry company for dinner.

we got three small bowls of fries...red potato, yukon gold, and yam fries with vanilla salt.
we also had about 8 different dipping sauces.
it was so good. we loved them all! and it was fun just sitting down and having french fries for dinner!
after that we went to winco to get some goodies and then headed to the theater to see shrek. after we arrived we discovered the showing we came for had been cancelled an hour prior. i complained and we were given three free tickets. we jumped in the truck and went to the theater closer to our house and saw it there. we really liked it and thought it was funny. i really enjoyed being out with just the three of us again and it was nice not having to wrestle river during the movie. she doesn't sit for more than 30 seconds ever!
we really appreciated the heiner's helping us out and river had a great time!

kindergarten bound.

she's changed a bit. can you see it?
she is more than ready for kindergarten. she loved miss april. i like april too but in comparison to last year i missed all the opportunities to volunteer and participate. i missed going on the field trips too. last year was definitely more like a real school. but she had a good time this year and she learned which is good. i'm looking forward to seeing how she does in kindergarten.

a fun fact. or not. the last 6 months we've had the worst luck ever with cars! we picked flower up from school in 6 different cars in just 6 months. our jeep, our bus, our truck, my bosses subaru, a rented expedition and a honda a friend gave us. out of the four that are ours only the truck works. white trash much? at this point every time we break down i just laugh.

5.27.2010::picnic at veteran's park

on thursday we met mandy, kathy and bryson for a picnic and playtime. we had a great time and enjoyed the nice weather.



i had fun waiting at the bottom of the slide for them to come flying out.
this was river's first time down the big slide. it was pretty funny. she was a little nervous coming down but then she loved it!




this time i think she had a little 'help' from flower before she was stable and went head first. it's pretty fast with two turns so she hit her head twice. i caught the last one before she finally stopped sliding.
this picture of her holding her head is so sad and so sweet. poor thing. such despair.
