martin luther king jr. day

kris organized an amazing dinner for refugees. we had a great time meeting new people and helping out.
the food was awesome!
there were tons of flags representing many countries.

lots of people donated quilts to be given to the refugees.

we were charged with picking up the juice from mcd's. i was happy to help but wish i could have done more.

the gal in the middle was actually one of my tenants at the time. we worked with the agency for new american's to help get her set up when she first arrived here.

there were wonderful speakers.

a high school choir performed.

there were loaves and loaves of bread for families to take home.

it was a very neat event and i'm so glad we went.
