Sunday Chillaxing

KG is always telling Flower to chillax instead of relax or chill. Well that's what this Sunday has been about and it's awesome.
We didn't wake up till 9:30 and then I made us pancakes and eggs that we ate in bed. Flower watched Futurama which is one of her favorite cartoons.
We enjoyed church. Sacrament meeting had some irreverent laughter which I always enjoy. The three speakers were excellent as well. I got some super nice comments on my hair, the sweetest probably being from Jerry. :) We sloughed class, which isn't that unusual for Sunday School, but this time it was the second meeting as well. We chatted in the foyer through Sunday school with Kris just talking about her birthmother experiences. I love to hear people's stories in that area. I particularly enjoyed hanging out in the nursery with KG during Relief Society. We went in there to get Flower to go home but she wasn't happy about that so we got to know the teachers. They were so interesting. We learned that Jessica Walk is Korean and she was adopted by a New Jersey family when she was 6 and her biological brother was 3, so they were adopted together. I regret that I didn't ask her what the situation was with her biological parents that she was adopted at that age but I forgot. That gives me good reason to hang out in there next week. ;) Her husband, Jeff, wants to adopt really bad but she wants their first child to be biological if possible. She has had difficulty getting pregnant and they are now embarking on the endeavor of testing to see if there is a problem with either of them and what the next step should be. That's such a tough road! As we were all leaving she was telling Flower her name and this was the exchange: Jessica-"Flower, my name is Jessica." Flower-"NO!! You're Chinese Food!" What? Where on earth did that come from? We all had a good laugh. We also got to know Collin and Ciarinna. I'm probably totally botching her name but I asked her how to spell it and I'm pretty sure that's what she said. Anyway, she works for an adoption attorney and wants to take our profile to their office. They occasionally have birth mother's go directly to them to place their baby for adoption. They want to adopt as well and that seems to be their first choice. She just seems like such an intelligent person with a fresh, chill personality. We learned that they are strict vegetarians and have some hippie ways about them but they are running the Nader campaign in Idaho which is very conservative. They were just such an interesting mix of values. I would love to get together with both couples and they were so fun to get to know.
When we got home I made linner (lunch/dinner) while KG taught Flower how to make Popsicles. (By the way, this is all because of the Jacobs and the Sturgills. Apparently the Jacobs went to the Sturgills at some point during church and came back with Popsicles. When we were leaving Flower saw them eating theirs and was asking for a Popsicle all the way home.) :) This was a fun thing for them to do together and she can hardly wait to eat one. They should be frozen by the time she wakes up from her nap. Plus these are 100% fruit and veggie juice Popsicles so I can have some too! :)Flower is now napping and KG and I are each on our laptops in bed. :) I plan the rest of the evening to consist of watching tv/movies, reading, cuddling and eating Popsicles. Hmmm, maybe even a bubble bath.
Perfect.
Oh and I loved the Bucket List. I finished it last night and thought it was great. I loved seeing Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman together! Good team with a great storyline!

Sunday fun and KG's new toy!

I finally unpacked my sewing machine today! Yes, I know, it took forever. But it was now necessary because I sold some custom orders in my shop that I forgot were still listed and therefore I have to get them made and sent off.
It was well worth. I love it! While KG and Flower were napping I was trying out all the settings and just playing around.
I can now monogram things if I so choose.And just for more practice I made a new pillow for our sofa. Check out how closely that turquoise matches our walls! So cool. It adds fun color to our neutral sofa.
At 6:00 we went to my parents for dinner. The reason for the invite was so that KG could fix their computer. He was successful. We had breakfast for dinner which is always a favorite! It was de-lish!
After that we went for a ride in our new ride. :)
When we got back we played Uno. It was such a fun game to help Flower learn numbers and colors. She was on a team with Grandma and they won the first hand.
After five hands Flower was done and went outside to run around in the backyard with Suzee. She also pushed a gorilla in the swing. :)

At one point she was trying to get the gorilla up the ladder to take it down the slide. It was so cute to watch. We all stopped playing and just watched out the window as she tried to figure this out. First she got behind the ladder to look up at the platform to see if she could set it up there and then climb. Too high to reach. Then she started to climb with one arm around the gorilla's waste but was afraid to fall so she set the gorilla on the ground and started climbing but then realized she wouldn't be able to reach it from the top and climbed back down to pick it up again, only this time by the arm. She started to climb again. Once she got towards the top things got tricky as she needed both hands more free to navigate the last step. She tucked it under her chin but it almost fell so then she stuck the hand in her mouth. That worked! It was so cute to watch her be so determined and then finally succeed. She went down the slide with the gorilla and had the biggest smile on her face! So did we. :)
While she was outside we played Redneck Life.It was so fun playing with them because they'd never played before so it made it that much funnier. We laughed the whole game! Mom totally kicked butt!
Flower eventually came in and watched Cinderella with this giant bear. She cuddled right up to it!

Yep we bought a new car.



We're excited and KG's logic sold me. We are going to sell our truck, which is only used in the summer when he's running a paintball event. When we all drove that we were crammed in the front or I drove the car and met him there and that is a big waste of gas! Now we will get a trailer for the paintball equipment and tow it with this.
We are also going to sell our car. The thing is falling apart. We've had it for 7 years and it's 11 years old. It's got almost 200,000 miles on it. We just spent $2000 putting in a new radiator and fixing the idle and I think something else. It needs more work plus it needs body work. It needs about $5000 worth of work and it's not even worth that! What's the point? The new car also gets better gas mileage then the old car and truck. Soooo, we'll now have two cars instead of three, thereby saving on insurance. We'll save on gas and all be able to ride together for paintball events. We're a little nervous because of other events that are coming up but we feel like it's a smart move. And hey, we're just ready for something new! It drives so nice and it's super comfy! Oh and it's got a kick ass stereo system which is really all I care about. :0)

Sunday Evening

We made a picnic dinner and headed outside. There are some tables on the back of the property bordering the fence of Bishop Kelley's field. We ate there and Flower had fun on one of the swings. We had purchased some water guns at Target yesterday along with all the yard toys. We filled them up and had fun soaking each other. We then took the yard toys to the field and played for a couple of hours. We had a great time teaching Flower had to use the stuff and just being together. We also lied on the grass and watched the clouds go by.
A perfect ending to the weekend don't you think?

Peaceful Sunday

So if you read my last post...I did go to church and I did not wear the new shoes. :) When we woke up this morning and looked outside, it was beautifully white with new fallen snow! I was not about to wear those new shoes out in the snow and break my already bad ankle. Flower however was all dressed in new!
She looked so cute in a dress that I got her for Christmas, purchased from one of my favorite Hippie shops. The new tights that we bought her last night went perfectly with it and her new shoes topped it off. She was having fun all day showing off her dress by spinning and bowing.

I'm really happy that I went to church for a couple of reasons. Sacrament meeting was amazing. I was able to overcome some personal challenges and it felt really good to have a great friend there to give me a congratulatory 'five'. The amazing part though was a couple in our ward spoke about their experiences when he was sent to Iraq. Their son was the youth speaker, he's only 10, and his talk was so sweet! Both talks by the couple were good but the sister's talk was amazing and even got me emotional! Crazy! There must be something in the air I tell ya! She spoke about how she got through life without her husband for 18 months with a newborn and two other children. In the midst of him being away, her dad died. She moved into our ward a year after we did so I was there for all of this. I new she was struggling and would drop off dinner, notes or flowers but I know I could have done more! You truly don't know how difficult it is however until you here it spoken in a talk such as this, with so much honesty and just filled with the spirit. I loved hearing her speak about it.
After that, when I should have been in class, I was in the hallway talking to my friend Amanda. We were talking all about massage because she was pampered with a day at the spa on New Years Eve. She was showing me what the lady did to her hands and ended up massaging both my hands for about ten minutes. I was in heaven! :) There's just something about the human touch that makes you all warm and fuzzy inside! Did that sound weird? Nice! What I meant was that it warmed my heart that she would take the time to do something that she knew would make me feel good and we had a good conversation to boot! :)
After church Flower and I stayed in the parking lot throwing snowballs at each other for over and hour! It was really fun. It was her first time playing in the snow and she loved it! Both our dresses, hands, feet and hair were wet by the time she was ready to go. I wish I'd had my camera!
When we got home I made us some hot cocoa and we cuddled in a warm blanket. She was soon fast asleep. I went into the bedroom to find KG awake so I went and grabbed my current book, Two Little Girls in Blue and read next to him while he watched tv. When Flower woke up KG made us a yummy dinner. We then watched a favorite tv show of ours, Psych, and had caramel corn. I also made enough for the gaybors so we took a short brake and took it upstairs, bringing back our case of movies and folding chairs. :) The caramel corn is my mom's recipe. We grew up having either that or buttered popcorn every Sunday so I was filled with warm memories with my family and our Sunday shows that always came on at 6 pm. One of the ones we watched was called Our House. Does anyone remember that show? Gosh, I loved it! I also loved Murder She Wrote. I remember watching the Muppet Show, Silver Spoons, Alf, Family Ties, Hunter. That was really a fun time. That's probably why I still make either popcorn (only air popped with real butter-no microwave crap here!) every Sunday with the occasional caramel corn which KG much prefers!
Tonight as were saying our prayers Flower's made me laugh out loud. As hard as I try, most people know I CANNOT contain laughter when something is funny. This happens often in her prayers. I don't want it to deter her so I need to be careful but they are just so darn cute. Here is her prayer in it's entirety, "thankful Father,(which she has started saying lately instead of Heavenly Father)thankful my sandwich and thankful my cheese. name of Jesus Christ. Amen." She had a cheeseburger for dinner. :) And now I am off to read some more of my book!
It was such a peaceful Sunday...just how I like it! :)
