Another season of gymnastics.

A couple of weeks ago KG and I were able to take Flower to gymnastics together. I haven't taken any photos with the new camera or her new season so here they are. Some of the action shots are blurry but at least you know they're action! :) The lighting is much better then with the old camera. She is so much more confident on the beam. Last time I went she wouldn't do it without holding a hand. She also has developed more skill on the trampoline. She develops more everyday!

Hot dates and the Monday business

We met up with Justin and Birgitta tonight. They are in town from Arizona. Justin is KG's brother. Birgitta is the girl. We love Birgitta. She lied to us. She said she wasn't coming to Boise with Justin. We were disappointed. Then she popped up next to the car yesterday when we stopped by to see Justin who had just arrived in town. I love surprises. I was very happy to see her. We met at Gino's for some lovely Italian atmosphere and yummy food. This is our favorite Italian restaurant. This is the first time we've been disappointed with the service. This waitress has been there for years but we've never had her. She couldn't possible be like this all the time or or I doubt she'd still be working there after all these years. Perhaps she was having an off night. The food was super slow to arrive as well. However, the food did not disappoint. Birgitta's was my favorite of the night...lobster ravioli...yummo! She's only staying till Wednesday while Justin will be here for three weeks. I'm so happy that she made time to hang with us for such a quick visit! This was her first time downtown. Seen as how this is only her second time to Boise that's not hard to believe. :) She and Justin spent a good part of the day there. She said she could move here if she lived there! I love downtown. It was so nice to hang out there for a bit. We walked to the Idanha and my John(one half of the gaybors) came down to say hello. I also saw a couple of tenants, Mike being one who I miss, who voiced their disappointment that I vanished without telling them I was leaving. I was happy (is that bad?) that they highly dislike the new manager and she's useless, to put it kindly. The tenants I had talked to shortly after leaving voiced their dislike but the fact that it's now even worse doesn't say much for her. Well, yay me.
Today was my turn to work in the office all day because Lynnette and Tristan were sick. It wasn't too busy so not bad. I did lots of paper work type stuff and showed the apartments and hopefully rented one.
I took Flower to swim lessons at 11:00. I was so proud of her. She really struggles to put her face in the water. I just kept telling her to touch her forehead to the water (knowing that her whole face would end up in it.) She just kept trying and trying throughout the whole lesson. Her teacher and I happened to look at her right when she did it! Her teacher looked over at me to make sure I saw and we were both smiling and then we looked at Flower and you could see that she was so proud of herself! I was so happy for her and so proud that she didn't give up even though she was scared. She is such a good example to me! I took her for a shaved ice before going home.
Monday's are her double days. She also has gymnastics in the afternoon to which KG takes her. When they returned we closed up the office and went to Target. We had to take a photo and had some time to kill before meeting at Gino's so we thought, "why not register?". It was fun just to start thinking in the baby mode for a bit. I'm still totally terrified.
Today was a really good day and a hell of a lot better then last Monday (and the entire week). I feel so much better!

Gymnastics

Since KG still can't drive, I had to leave work for a bit yesterday and take Flower to gymnastics. This is the first time I've seen her in her new class, without a parent. She did well. She is a little timid and cautious. She definitely doesn't have my daring personality. I rocked that place when I was young and was never afraid to try something new. I taught myself most things at home like back flips on the floors and trampoline, which I can still do. It all must come very natural to me. She gets very nervous to go too high, walk on anything unbalanced or hang too long from the bar. As you can see she requests help with most of the activities.



She has improved so much since she first started as far as her abilities are concerned. It's so fun to watch.


I would have enjoyed myself even more had there not been two overbearing mothers there yelling at their kids the whole time. I wanted to tell them to shut up and just let the teachers teach! That's what they're there for! But of course I just minded my own business!
It's fun to see Flower growing and learning!

Gymnastics and Juno

Flower had her last gymnastics lesson tonight that requires a parents involvement. She has now graduated to the next group! It is amazing to see how much she has improved since her first month. Unfortunately I have only been twice because of work but I can see HUGE improvement just from the photos. Here are some fun photos that KG took.

When she first started she was too scared to do the little beam. This is the first I've seen her on the big one. I am so proud of her!


Good-bye Miss Charlotte! You've been a great teacher!
We had an amazing dinner tonight after KG got home from karate. I made this yummy Meat Loaf that Katie Joel made on Oprah. My favorite recipe has always been my mom's which I made my own with a few tweaks. Not anymore. This is my new fav! I also made mashed potatoes that were not my favorite. I used a new recipe which used a type of potato we've never had before. My favorite is still red potatoes. We had the sweetest yummiest corn and biscuits. YUMMY!
We then watched Juno...so funny! I really liked it and it had some great one liners! At the beginning of the movie she is buying a pregnancy test, her third, and the convenience-store clerk who sells it to her says, "What's the prognosis, Fertile Myrtle?" "Your eggo is preggo" "This is one diddle that can't be un-did, homeskillet." :o)
When she's in the abortion clinic the goth chick tells her that the blueberry condoms make her boyfriends junk smell like pie! :)
When Juno told her parents she was pregnant her dad says "I didn't think you were this kind of girl" and she responds "I don't really think I know what kind of girl I am". Brilliant! Thinking back on age 16, I empathize with her and I still do.
One of my favorites was after Juno told her parents she was pregnant and they were having a conversation after Juno left the room. The dad says, "Next time I see that Beeker kid I'm going to punch him in his wiener." Classic. The word wiener just makes me giggle and then to hear it from a grown ass man saying it on tv...could.not. stop.laughing.
I love when she finally confesses her love to him, "You're the coolest person I've ever met, and you don't even have to try," "Actually," he confesses in return, "I try really hard." HA!
I just love Juno's personality. I really like the way it ended too with the two of them on the porch strummin and singing away.
I feel like this movie is really important for our teen generation today. The story of Juno could help make adoption "cool." Teen mom's seem to consider raising the baby or abortion as their only options, the former being my experience now days. Adoption could become a more popular option now after Juno made it look like an awesome decision. Obviously, I'm a huge fan of adoption!
