Saturday? WHOA NELLY!

It was so busy. KG got up at 7:30 to go help Becky move. He discovered a flat tire on his way. Yep, that makes two flat tires in two days. Ridiculous. $800 later for four new tires because that was our only option and I'm pissed. So irritating that we just keep getting sucked dry. Our breaks are failing as well with an $800 quote. I give up at getting caught up. At least it's not due to frivolous things and we are otherwise living on a tight budget.

He got home just in time for us to go to BSU. We were taking photos for the St. Clair's. Joanna graduated so her entire family was in town. Here are a few of my favs.
Flower had a good time playing with the kids while we waited for everyone to arrive.

River's two bottom teeth can be seen just below the gums. She spends a good portion of the day biting on her lower lip. :)
Here's the graduate!

Little Madeline had a mind of her own! She was not about to be told what to do as you'll see in many photos. :)

After we were done there we went home and attempted to get some naps in before the evening.
At 6:00 we went to a park in Meridian to celebrate Lorelai's birthday! She is two years old. I've always said I love this age, my favorite being 18 months to 3 years. She is so fun to watch and every time she opens her mouth I just crack up at the sound of her cute voice.
Check out the adorable dessert table! Amanda went all out!

We had to leave early. We went to Oriental Express to celebrate Casey's graduation! The guests included Casey's family, some of their friends plus Kris, Jer and Matt.
Jenna and Casey are moving to Texas next week. We wish them the best of luck! Congratulations Casey!
After dinner we walked with Jenna, Casey, April, Chris, Kris, Jer, and Dean to Ben and Jerry's for some ice cream. Flower loves Dean and I'm pretty sure Dean loves Flower. He will do anything she asks! It's pretty cute. Dean is Chow's son. He is 12 and is so cute and polite! He also absolutely loves River and loves to hold her, unlike his dad Jimmy, who is terrifide to hold her. LOL.

We had a really fun, and busy day. We enjoyed spending so much time with family and friends!

Yahoo! We sold the car!

You have no idea how happy I am about this. Just this week, as I've been going through the finances, I've been having buyers remorse about the Jeep and wondering if we made a mistake. I'm getting nervous about the enormous adoption fees, our upcoming two week vacation that at this point we shouldn't pay for and thinking we need to stop having a life so we don't spend any more money and on and on. I just tend to get a little panicky. Except when it comes to buying new sandals that my doctor recommended of course. ;) Both of my docs did actually. I have been wearing flip flops for a LONG time because when I wear tennis shoes it puts too much pressure on my ankle and just makes it worse. I was kind of sad about that this last fall because I love my Converse! They completely understood that so they said if I'm going to wear flip flops I at least needed to get some that had a bit of structure, some cushion and some give. They recommended either Fit Flops or Crocs sandals. I went and checked them out yesterday after researching online. Well shoot, once I find out that my ass and calves would be all tone and smokin' hot with the Fitflops I was sold! Yeah...not buyin' that crap! How the heck are shoes going to make me lose inches in my butt and legs? I don't have my hopes up so I'm sure I won't be disappointed when it doesn't happen. :) I did choose those, only because they were cuter and felt more comfortable. The only thing I'm not loving is the gigantic logo on the front! I am not a fan of wearing name brands across any part of my body thank you. But what do you do? I have already felt a difference in the ankle and that's all I care about. But hey, I'll keep ya posted if my backside starts magically disappearing!
So back to scraping pennies. :) We got the full asking price for the car! Sooo excited! That will help out so much! The down side. They are making payments to us but we got what we wanted so we are willing to work with them. I would be much happier with a big fat check right now but we'll take what we can get. We'll have all the money in three months. Now we just need to sell the truck and then we really only paid half price for the Jeep!

Tonight I had an enrichment meeting. It was really fun. I think I felt the most comfortable out of all the meetings we've had so far. I am just at a way better place with confidence and everything right now (ever since they got my brain/thyroid working properly) and that makes all the difference! I'm bummed I won't be here for the activity we were planning for but I'll get over it quickly since I'll be on the beach in Oregon! :)

While I was at my meeting KG took Flower to a family thing. Now this is where you're all going to hate me and think I'm a terrible example and mother and yada yada. Hey, I'm human and realize I need to work on a few things. I get a text from KG that says, "She is definitely your daughter!" I smile and can't wait to hear the rest. He proceeds by telling me that she fell on the playground and hurt her foot. She was walking with a limp and saying damn-it every time she stepped down on the right foot. Oops. But it gets better. He told her we don't say that. When he was getting her out of the car she said it again and then she looked up and said, "we don't say damn-it". She takes another step on her hurt foot and says, "shit!" He had to turn his face so she wouldn't see that he was laughing. I laughed out loud to myself all the way home! I know it's bad and we shouldn't laugh. I do feel a tiny bit bad. I really don't say it that much around her but she is a sponge! Strike me down now. When I finally got home, this is how I found her.
Daddy fixed her up with an ice pack. It really is hurt. It's all swollen on the top. When she went to bed she was still limping and trying not to cry with each step. Poor baby. :( We'll assess it in the morning.

I also want to ask for prayers and good thoughts for Len Welter, the owner of the company I work for, and Lynnette, my boss(an their whole family). Len is Lynnette's dad. He is in Italy right now and was in a pretty serious accident a couple of days ago. He was jogging and was hit by a motorcyclist. He has swelling in the brain and they just decided to do surgery to relieve the pressure. I believe he may be in surgery now. If you want more details pop on over to Lynnette's blog. Just keep them in your thoughts! Thanks!!!

And finally.....you know the feeling you get when you make a connection with someone that is just so cool and 'gets' you? Every time you see them or talk to them you just feel happier inside. You feel more understood. And when you replay conversations in your head that you've had with them, you smile or even laugh. And any differences there may be on a superficial level don't matter because there are so many similarities and parallels. And somehow there's a natural trust that makes you spill your guts. I love that! And I love good friends! ;) And then I get paranoid and wonder if I'm being imposing or annoying. And I hope this isn't weird. I guess the hope is that it's mutual. :)

Oh wait! I guess there's one more thing. I am so sick of this cough and what comes along with it...wetting my pants a little every.time.I.cough. Well not every time but almost. But even once is too many! Give me a break already!

Sunday fun and KG's new toy!

I finally unpacked my sewing machine today! Yes, I know, it took forever. But it was now necessary because I sold some custom orders in my shop that I forgot were still listed and therefore I have to get them made and sent off.
It was well worth. I love it! While KG and Flower were napping I was trying out all the settings and just playing around.
I can now monogram things if I so choose. And just for more practice I made a new pillow for our sofa. Check out how closely that turquoise matches our walls! So cool. It adds fun color to our neutral sofa.
At 6:00 we went to my parents for dinner. The reason for the invite was so that KG could fix their computer. He was successful. We had breakfast for dinner which is always a favorite! It was de-lish!
After that we went for a ride in our new ride. :)
When we got back we played Uno. It was such a fun game to help Flower learn numbers and colors. She was on a team with Grandma and they won the first hand.
After five hands Flower was done and went outside to run around in the backyard with Suzee. She also pushed a gorilla in the swing. :)

At one point she was trying to get the gorilla up the ladder to take it down the slide. It was so cute to watch. We all stopped playing and just watched out the window as she tried to figure this out. First she got behind the ladder to look up at the platform to see if she could set it up there and then climb. Too high to reach. Then she started to climb with one arm around the gorilla's waste but was afraid to fall so she set the gorilla on the ground and started climbing but then realized she wouldn't be able to reach it from the top and climbed back down to pick it up again, only this time by the arm. She started to climb again. Once she got towards the top things got tricky as she needed both hands more free to navigate the last step. She tucked it under her chin but it almost fell so then she stuck the hand in her mouth. That worked! It was so cute to watch her be so determined and then finally succeed. She went down the slide with the gorilla and had the biggest smile on her face! So did we. :)
While she was outside we played Redneck Life.It was so fun playing with them because they'd never played before so it made it that much funnier. We laughed the whole game! Mom totally kicked butt!
Flower eventually came in and watched Cinderella with this giant bear. She cuddled right up to it!
Thanks for such a fun night ma and pa!
So did you catch what I said a few paragraphs up? "We went for a ride in our new ride"
Yep we bought a new car.

We're excited and KG's logic sold me. We are going to sell our truck, which is only used in the summer when he's running a paintball event. When we all drove that we were crammed in the front or I drove the car and met him there and that is a big waste of gas! Now we will get a trailer for the paintball equipment and tow it with this.
We are also going to sell our car. The thing is falling apart. We've had it for 7 years and it's 11 years old. It's got almost 200,000 miles on it. We just spent $2000 putting in a new radiator and fixing the idle and I think something else. It needs more work plus it needs body work. It needs about $5000 worth of work and it's not even worth that! What's the point? The new car also gets better gas mileage then the old car and truck. Soooo, we'll now have two cars instead of three, thereby saving on insurance. We'll save on gas and all be able to ride together for paintball events. We're a little nervous because of other events that are coming up but we feel like it's a smart move. And hey, we're just ready for something new! It drives so nice and it's super comfy! Oh and it's got a kick ass stereo system which is really all I care about. :0)

Let's kick it.

can you dig it?
