kindergarten at the park!

even though flower had graduated from kindergarten, she still had a day and a half left. thursday the 2nd was spent in the park. it was so fun walking there with all these kids. they each had a buddy. flower was paired with alice. alice is in the orange coat and flower in the white.

i loved the sight of reaching the field...they all went running with such excitement!
before we knew it they had devoured the playground.

the merry-go-round was definitely the favorite spot for the kids!

it soon started to rain so instead of eating snack in the field we went back to the school.
by the time we got back it was pouring and we were all soaked! :)
cookies saved the day! we ate cookies, a lot of which were left over from the graduation the day before. a lot of the cookies i had made the week before went to these two events.
mmm, yummy.
i really can't believe kindergarten is over. flower learned so much and is a smart little cookie! she can read and write and it's so fun to watch. she is so excited to learn and really loved school. i hope that lasts. :)

flower graduates from kindergarten+a bbq!

as of june 1st, it's over. flower graduated from kindergarten. it was such a cute little program although not the best executed. it included both kindergarten classes and instead of using bleachers and having the kids in a couple of rows, thus making them more visible, they had them stretched from one side of the gym to the other in a single line. not ideal for photos but it worked out. i got up and stood where i needed to get my shots. each child had a letter of the alphabet. on their turn they said their letter and word that started with that letter.


they then sung the cutest song but with the kids so spread out it wasn't working out so well. i'm so glad flower sang it at home for me and that i had the sense to record it because it's darling!

finally they received their diplomas from their principal. she pulls her lips in when she's nervous. :)

we enjoyed some juice and cookies. a good portion of the cookies i had made earlier in the week went to this event.
i love her little dress. i gave it to her that morning just for the occasion.

after the graduation we went to oriental express for lunch to celebrate. my parents came to the graduation and also went to lunch with us. kg's mom joined us for lunch too! the photo i took of her ended up really blurry but we were glad she was there!

kris was working which was a nice surprise. she got to celebrate with us.
that night after work we had an impromptu bbq by the pool with dave+bobby+isaac, lisa+john+sam+josh+isaac+topher, heather+5 kids, carol+chase, sandee, and our gang of four.

it was such a wonderful day. congratulations flower! now on to 1st grade with you!

welcome june?

yep, i'm totally behind. i'm fully aware we are halfway through july thank you. and there's two reasons for that. we are having so much fun around these parts i'm either to busy to blog or too tired from all the fun that i fall asleep while blogging. the fun also means i'm taking more photos with my camera which takes 10 times as long to process than phone photos. so yeah, i'm just starting june. i know you're just sitting on the edge of your seat with anticipation waiting to hear about our month. i've never been this far behind and it's sure fun to see what we did last month as i've honestly already forgotten! i guess that's the whole point of this here bloggity blog of mine. to remind me of the good life i have and hopefully show my kids in years to come that their parents rocked! :)
