company party at knock em dead theater

december 3rd was our company christmas party. this year we went to knock em dead dinner theater to have dinner and see a christmas carol. dinner was fair but the show was excellent. another great year and i'm very grateful for my job. i stole all these photos from lynnette. hopefully she doesn't mind. my camera phone without a flash just wasn't cutting it.

the show was really great.

unfortunately half the party left early due to ricardo falling down the stairs drunk. he had a few too many. bummer. but it really was a wonderful night and i'm grateful for lynnette's generosity. we also learned some interesting information which i will be sharing soon.

library art and advents(revised)

i forgot to add the photos of the actual activity. i just found them on my phone.
river hangs out in the truck with me while flower does karate. i love her sweet face here. she was 'reading' to me.
there is a public library across the street from flower's karate studio. one day after karate i decided to go check it out and renew my library card. since i can't remember the last time i used it, it had expired. :) the girls loved seeing the gerbils and hamsters. and then there was an announcement that the free children's art was starting. how fun. look what we made.

these beautiful snow flakes. flower's is on the left, mine and river's on the right. it was so fun.
we are definitely going to take advantage of that again!
in addition to the candy cane advent calendar that i already pictured, we each have a sticker one. flower's is the princess and river's is the mickey/minnie mouse.
mine is a squirrel house party thing and kg's the nativity. it's been fun to do these together right before bed.
i am really loving that wire. it's so fun to see this stuff all hanging up neatly in their room.

flower's first snow day!

we welcomed in december with flower's first snow day! december 1st. they don't happen too often around here. There have only been 4 since 1994. i remember them being so magical when i was a kid. i think kg and i were more excited about it than she was because she still loves school. :) anyway, we didn't really play much because unfortunately i still worked. a snow day is unlikely for me when i live where i work. ;) kg walked the girls to office to see me in the afternoon and had fun throwing them in the big piles of snow. he also made a slide out of one of the piles. river had a snow suit on so she enjoyed it more than flower but they both had fun for a few minutes.







i hope there are many more snow days to come in flower's school career.
