flower has been with us for three years!

flower has been with us for three years. can you believe it? i can't.
sometimes i feel jipped. she's almost 5 and we've only had three years together. she's a pretty cool kid.

we celebrated at an earlier date by going to melting pot. we had a $50 gift certificate that expired on the day we went. this has become our tradition. she has so much fun there. we invited kris and jer along and i'm so glad they came. it was lots of fun.

tonight, in order to celebrate, we went bowling.

can you see river's natural mowhawk? we didn't have to spike it up. it does it all by itself.

it was river's first time bowling. it was hard to keep her contained so we only played one game but it was a lot of fun and flower loved it!
kg and i are nerds and each have our own ball and shoes.

i've had it for ten years and put my nickname on it way back then...
long before i knew i'd have a daughter by that name!

flower laughed so hard and said, "look at dad! he's doing a curtsy!"

the remainder of my jumba juice kept river contained for as long as it lasted. we needed at least two more to make her last just the one game we played. she loves the stuff.

i'm so grateful for flower and for adoption and that it's allowed for us to have a family. i'm also grateful for amanda and the amazing job she did with flower in the first two years of her life! without her, flower wouldn't be with us today.
