I am sitting here enjoying a tivo'd episode of The View. It's all about Autism. I have dealt with autism a lot throughout my life with my interactions with children. I helped diagnose one actually. I also have my suspicions of another child I know but that's another blog. Anyhow, they had several children on the show and Rosie asked one what his favorite part of school was and he said 'free time' and everyone got a good chuckle. Well, my favorite time is 'free time' too. Thanks to my wonderful husband and father-in-law who got the 'cabin itch', I am currently relishing in my first day of free time in 2 months! An entire day to do whatever I please! Nothing brings a smile to my face more then that! I have been looking forward to this day all week! Making plans to not make any plans and have no schedule! Don't get me wrong, I love being a mom and a wife and all the joys that have come with that! I have just always been the type of person that needs my alone time and I must say, I've done pretty damn good for not having any alone time in 2 months! Nobody has been screamed at (too severely) and everyone has all their limbs and minimal bruising. I just function better as a human being when I can have time to calm my racing mind and put my thoughts in order. This is really the first time yet that I can't wait to see Flower run through that door. So just the few hours I've had alone so far have helped! I have no plan for the day and am basking in the glory of selfishness. Although, since I'll be happy, and that in turn will make those around me happy, I guess it's not selfish. I mixed up some strawberry daiquiri's and I've sat on my bum and watched 2 Dr. Phil episodes and 1 View so far. I didn't have to get up unless I wanted to!! Of course I'm never just doing one thing. So I did pay some bills and play pogo on the computer while watching those shows. I have also been in and out of the 2nd room, organizing and getting ready to start some crafty things. I am also really looking forward to Easter now more then before because things will be clean and I will have time to put together a super cute Easter basket. :) Today is a good day. I have the shades up on the windows and the sun is poring in! Now I'm about to start an episode of Ellen, which requires some dancing, ;), finish clearing my craft table and unwrap my new sewing machine! Yep, I made the plunge! Oh, and you can bet I'm going to top this day off with a soak in the tub and a good read! Yes!! Life is good! :o)
Peace out!!!

That sounds almost exactly like what I do when I have 'me' time. Except for Dr Phill and the View, I'm usually watching one of my old movies.
I never thought I'd see the day when I'd get excited to go grocery shopping by myself or go to the bathroom without any little hands banging on the door! Have a wonderful day doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! :)
