2.2-river had lined up all her little friends. i thought it was cute.
later that afternoon when the girls went to work with me river played in the trash can. nice. :)
2.5-river loves to wear my glasses :)
oh her lips are so lucious!
2.8-it was my first day back to work when i should have been on maternity leave. it was a rough day but coming home to dinner with the fam and these funny fish eye photos while we ate made me laugh.
2.15-the girls are playing on the jungle gym
ah the naked phase. we pick our battles and this isn't one i care about. i remember when flower spent more time naked than in clothes. she got over it and so will river. :)
2.18-the girls are ending up in our bed way to often these days. but it sure makes for cute photos in the morning. i love that they each have their left arm up.
2.19-the girls pulled all the books out of one of their shelves and then pushed the shelf into the living room and had a great time playing in it.
that evening we watched baby parker. he's 2 months old. i loved holding him but it broke my heart at the same time. it was so fun to watch river with him. she loved him! flower was having a rough night and refused to come out of her room so she never saw him.
2.22-nightly dance party
2.25-we went out to lunch together as a family and as i looked across the table at flower i realized she had a loose tooth! her first loose tooth! i was so excited. my excitement made her excited. it's the bottom front left one in the photo. :)
after we left siam thai, river fell asleep reading her book. so sweet.
we got these wonderful hanging baskets to house some of our fruits and veggies. i love seeing all that healthy food hanging up so visible instead of squished up on the counter. we didn't have any counter space left with all that sitting on there.
it was definitely an up and down month and i'm grateful we are moving on!

amazing surprise date
on a monday in february kg told me not to make any plans for the upcoming saturday the 26th. i obeyed and was excited for the surprise. i needed it badly! i was told to be ready for a night out and i'd be picked up from work. he had already arranged for the girls to spend the night at his parents. yay! thanks ken and laura!
then he surprised me with chocolate dipped strawberries. he did them himself with gluten free vegan chocolate. they may not look great but they were yummy! he had them well presented on a heart shaped styrofoam but it fell over in the car. he was bummed but i was still impressed!
then he pulled the car into this hotel parking lot. i was so excited! we also stopped for blizzards which were so good but gave me a terrible stomach ache since we've been eating vegan. it was a nice treat though. we took them to go to enjoy later since we were still full from sushi.
he got us a night's stay in the presidential suite. he so rocks!
this is when it became apparent how much planning and effort he had put in and how much shopping he had done that week! he's so wonderful. the room was gorgeous. he spread rose petals on the bed.
this was the huge balcony. too bad it wasn't warm enough to enjoy a seat out there.
on the other side of the kitchen is a huge jetted tub that we spent hours in. long enough that we enjoyed some favorite shows on the computer! i love watching tv in the bath. we also talked and talked, but only about positive, uplifting things. i revealed something to him that surprised him(and me to be honest), and it will be interesting to see if it ever comes to fruition.
he purchased us some fun things to wear, candles, bath salts, bath bombs, scrubbers and so on.
i had planned to surprise him with this hot little number for valentine's day but it didn't arrive in time. so knowing he was planning this night, i gave it to him the night before so he could pack it if he wanted. of course he did!
he bought us coordinating boxers and wife beater tanks. love it!
we had such an amazing night. it was so relaxing and we needed to reconnect.
in the morning we woke up and took advantage of their complimentary breakfast by the pool. yum. then we enjoyed more time to ourselves before the 1:oo pm checkout. it was marvelous!
we didn't have to pick the girls up until 5:00 so even after we got home we got to enjoy more alone time. we got caught up on our dvr'd shows and had my favorite sunday treat of popcorn with coconut oil. so good!
thank you thank you thank you kg. i am such a lucky gal. thanks for all the effort you put in to this weekend and thank you for loving me for who i am.
me, ready for our date
first thing we did was go to sushi. yummy! the 3rd roll from the left on the foil, the hurricane, is my favorite and i crave that sucker constantly. delicious!then he surprised me with chocolate dipped strawberries. he did them himself with gluten free vegan chocolate. they may not look great but they were yummy! he had them well presented on a heart shaped styrofoam but it fell over in the car. he was bummed but i was still impressed!

flower's class photos!
what a cute class. flower cracks me up. each day she plays with someone different and someone new is her best friend. the big tall boy in the back was her boyfriend for the first few months of school. so cute. i can also see by these photos that she's had a little growth spurt since since the beginning of the year because she's no longer the shortest in her class. :)
kg is able to volunteer once a month. because of my work schedule i finally volunteered for the first time recently. i was a little shocked. i guess i'm so used to being around flower that i assume every child her age has the same abilities. i was quickly slapped upside with the face with the fact that it's just not so. she is definitely one of the top 5 in her class. they were broken up into groups based upon their abilities and sent to different stations. i was in charge of one of those stations so eventually i got to work with each group of kids. that's how i became painfully aware of just how smart her group is. it's kind of sad to me to see just how behind some of the kids in the class are because it likely means they don't get a lot of attention at home or have learning disabilities which i hate to see any child have to struggle with. i hope flower's love of learning continues throwout her life and that she hopefully won't have the same struggles in school that i did.

fat faces and dancing with shadows
february 24th left me feeling very frustrated and sad. kg had a meeting at the church again and kris needed help setting up tables at the church. i thought i'd give socializing another shot. kg and the girls were going along too. the girls and i played in the van while he was in his meeting. as my anxiety started to rise with the thought of going inside i was starting to lose my patience. so i found this great app on my iphone, fatbooth, and this did the trick! we laughed till we cried!
i love this one. it's like she's so fat she can't open her eyes!
when kg joined us after his meeting we made him fat too.this new lifestyle of ours is sure working! ha.
kris and jerry soon arrived and once again i couldn't get out of the car. they all went in and set up tables and i cried. it's so frustrating. the fact that i can't even speak face to face with one of the people i trust most in the world made me realize i needed to do something about it. i scheduled myself an appointment and then spent the next week having anxiety about having to talk to someone. ugh.
it got better once we got home and had our dance party! we use a strobe light and both kg and i were finally there so i could get photos of them dancing with their shadows. they love it!
loving our dance parties!
