river is on my shit list

literally.
as i've said before, we are struggling to keep river in bed ever since the week before her 2nd birthday. i've been trying to let her scream it out but that keeps flower awake. she also gets in flower's bed and tortures her. so it's difficult. it's usually a 2-3 hour battle every night. for the first two years of her life we'd just lay her in her crib and a half hour later she'd be a sleep, sleep for 10-12 hours and life was wonderful. not so much these days. we put a gate at her door to keep her in. on december 9th she stood there and cried. the night before i got her out after 20 minutes so i was determined to last longer this time. after 30 minutes i went to the gate and was going to lay her back down and start over. that's when i saw it. she was standing there with poop everywhere! on the floor, all over the gate and the door frame and her. so gross. no wonder she was crying. i felt so bad. :{ so i scooped her up and put her in the tub. it's little frustating considering she hasn't pooped her pants in months and never once said she needed to go potty during her screaming fit. but oh well.
i was mortified to see it by her mouth. not sure if she ate it. i just threw up in my mouth a little. ugh. but even with all that crying and poop on her face she's still as sweet as ever. :)
poor girl. her diaper was actually still done up. she's never done this before so i think it ran down her leg and she was bothered by that and was trying to get it off. not unreasonable.
too bright.
ahh, i love her face.
the evidence on the carpet. time to get them cleaned again.
then she went right to bed with me and slept so sweetly.
several weeks ago we had another poop incident. river and flower were in their room playing and flower started screaming for river not to do something and yelling for kg.
see this drum? oh yes she did. she turned it upside down, sat on it and pooped in it.
yep, that's poop in the bottom. kg called me at work to tell me about it. i could not believe it! and i couldn't stop laughing.
she definitely keeps us on our toes.
