The Maize

Monday night we took Flower to the Maize and met the Goodsell's as well. It was her first time for everything we did that night and it was a blast! We also took along our friends, Danny and John that live above us. They, too, had never been there. I'm so glad they came along! They added lots of laughter!

First we went to the pumpkin patch and picked out our perfect pumpkins.

Then we played in the 'corn box'. Flower and Topher weren't as impressed with being buried as the adults were with burying them. :)

We then moved over to this fun little contraption. It's called a pillow and it was a blast! Wow, what a work out. I still prefer the trampoline but it was sure fun.

The kids rode in this fun little cow train pulled by a tractor! Flower waved like the little beauty pageant winner that she is!

Then we played on these awesome go-cart things! It was hilarious to see the big boys on the 'way to small' go-carts with their knees to their chin attempting to peddle and steer!

The funniest moment was watching John show Monkey what a 'real' pop-a-wheelie was! Notice his front wheels slightly off the ground in the first photo! Then BAM! He was on this back!!! Thanks for the laugh John! :o)

The best go-cart was definitely the big one. Too bad there was only one of those working. Some little snot kid was hogging it until I finally yelled, right near his mom, "KG! I think it's your turn on the big one"! She finally got the hint and told her son that other people needed to have a turn! Finally all the big boys got to ride the big toy.

After the go-carts was the slide of death! Poor little Flower went first. Don't let the photo full you. She didn't come to a nice little stop. She was hauling butt! Right after that she had a mouth full of dirt! She toppled right off and landed on her face! I just figured it was because she was small. Nope. Apparently whoever made the thing thought it would be funny to add a little bump at the end for an extra jolt that caught you off guard. It sent your arms upward and sent you flying anything but gracefully. They weren't just posing that way!

I love the mannequin like features of Danny's body and face. Nice form! Poor guy landed right on his tail!
This slide was cool though! You bumped all the way down! We had a good time with the duck races as well and Danny kicked my trash at our race!

All the kids loved the animals too. It was so sweet to look over and see Flower cute little hand resting on Josh's shoulder like he was going to protect her. :)

How did we measure up? Flower has grown at least 3 or 4 inches since she's been home. At our apartment we've used the buttons in the elevator buttons in the hallway for our measure stick. When she first got here, she could barley reach the bottom button (down arrow). Now she can reach the top button (up arrow). She is changing so much right before our eyes! And yes I'm still my short little 5' 1"!

We then watched a pig race, which Josh got to participate in. Then we went on a hay ride before entering the infamous Corn Maize! We had a great time breaking all the rules! Gasp! Throwing corn and corn cobs and running and oh my, what are we to do? :)
This photo sums up the evening nicely.
Topher and Flower sittin' in a tree......
We stopped at JB's to fill up our tummy's before heading home.
I haven't laughed so hard in quite a while! I'm so grateful for good friends that make me laugh! We couldn't have asked for better weather and I went home needing my inhaler! What a fabulous time!

Dang! that place looks rad! So many different things to do. Definitely not that much to do at our pumpkin patch and was a bit on the muddy side when we went out ;)

When I glanced at the pictures of everyone coming off the black slide first though "Wow, everyone must have really liked those go-carts... they look like they are pretending to still drive them"... then I read the caption.. lol.

The "pillow" looks amazing.

Totally jealous! ;)
