Festive Sunday

We had an excellent day.
It started off pretty sweet waking up to see that KG had already bathed Flower, did her hair and got her all dressed up cute for church! And he got less sleep then me. He is so nice to me!
The day went into overdrive from there getting to church early to save seats. The Goodsell's were joining us in our ward! We all had plans after church that conflicted with theirs so this was perfect. It was fun, even when John tricked me into touching a huge booger on his finger! I just threw up a little thinking about it. Gag! We sat with Kris and then Jenna and Casey joined our row. Goodsell's were behind us. Isaac decided to sit with us too so we were jam packed. It was really fun. The meeting was ok...not my favorite Christmas program. Our ward usually rocks the place in the music department and especially at Christmas. Those that did sing were excellent, it was just missing something and was too short. We had a good time though so that didn't matter. We booked it after the meeting along with the Goodsell's to head for the Barh's. The three couples get together each year for a gift exchange, always giving each other games, and then we play a few of the games while we eat Rhonda's amazing candy! When we first arrived we ate stir fry which we all brought ingredients for. It was so good. We each got great games and the three we played for fun. I can hardly wait for the game night to play the rest.
Erik always tries to evade the camera.
So John helped my cause. He was being so sweet and cuddly with River.
This lovely gift given to John by Rhonda and Erik got the night off to the perfect start...with laughter! Freaking hilarious! A big ol' pair of tighty whitey's with a stop sign over the bung whole! Classic!

Hungry baby. :)

You'd think Erik would learn that him being evasive with the camera just makes it more fun to chase him with it!

We had a great time and are grateful for their friendships and this fun tradition.
At 6:30 pm we packed up and headed for Jenna and Casey's. They watched Flower so we could go here:to see all of these acts:to benefit this:But I'm getting ahead of myself. Flower was thrilled to spend the evening with Jenna and talked about it all day. We were thrilled to spend the evening with the rest of the Sturg's. We went and picked up Kris and Matt since they had the tickets. Jer and Ty then met us there. It was at the Egyptian Theater. You can't go wrong with that venue. Anything I've seen there is excellent just because of the setting! What made the evening more special was to show up expecting to hand over a check and find out we were being treated! It meant a lot. Thank you so much guys!
The show was amazing. It was such a great mix of music styles and kept things interesting. My favorites were Travis McDaniel's band, a high schooler who wrote the song they played a couple of years prior...he has some serious talent; the Moody Jews, the head of the band is a Rabi in Boise; Curtis Stigers, who's mom is in our ward and finally, there was an Africa drum circle type group and their name is escaping me but I love that kind of stuff with the dancing and such.
The cell phone photo is of that group.
It was all just a really nice evening and we really enjoyed ourselves. We would love to make it a yearly tradition. And KG pointed out that he will like it even more next year when we don't have River tagging along. She was a bit fussy. By next year we'll feel comfortable leaving her with a sitter but we're just not there yet for obvious reasons!
Again...thank you so much for the evening!!! It really added to the Christmas spirit! We love you guys lots!
